Day two recap for Bay Area mobilizations

On the first two days of the Bay Area week of action, an escalating number of homeowners, community members, students and activists participated in events, delegation visits and protests.  On both mornings, they visited five banks to present a list of demands to fax to the bank CEOs.  On Monday, the group protested at an auction and stopped the auctioneers from selling homes to bidders.  Here is the picture of homeowners stopping the auction.

On Tuesday, a group of 100 people greeted high-level bank executives, including Janet Lamkin of bank of America and Perry Pelos -wells Fargo at an event of the business-backed Bay Area Council.  The event was at AT&T park, the home of the San Francisco Giants, so our group sent the message that we want to “Stay at Home.”

Check out ACCE member AnnieMcKenzie addressing the crowd:

Stay tuned for more actions.  Today we will bring the garbage a bank left behind in the community to their front doorstep and tomorrow is the big march.  Don’t forget to join our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MakeWallStreetBanksPayCalifornia and twitter #HDL22 to keep up with the events

ABOUT US: The "Make Banks Pay" actions are organized by Refund California, a state-wide coalition of homeowners, community members, faith leaders and students working to make Wall Street banks pay for destroying jobs and neighborhoods with their greedy, irresponsible and predatory business practices.
